Healthy Holiday Hosting

I love holiday season for many reasons like family get together, socializing with friends & shopping. While it's the season of joy, it also comes with it's mood swings like cold & winter blues.

Whether your home is the hub of all the family gatherings, or you’re in charge of the office holiday party, its a difficult time of year to stay on track with your own health goals while everyone around you is diving into eggnog cheesecake, cream puffs, homemade 7-layer bars and boxes of Russell Stovers.

But it doesn't necessarily have to be this way!

Here are some of my favorite to do’s that will help you stay on track, eat "clean" & remain sane while having guests -

1.) Write out your schedule - Get all of your events on the calendar including: family arrivals, party invites, and school schedules.

Know whats coming. Don’t forget to include time for yourself to exercise, meal plan, and if you’re the type of person who needs to schedule time to relax, make sure you add that in, too!

2.) Meal plan - Now that you know your schedule, its time to plan your daily meals so its one less thing you need to figure out with the added responsibly of hosting get together and attending parties, etc.

3.) Meal prep - Pick a day each week and prep as much as you can for meals throughout the holiday. If you don't have a crockpot, get one!

They literally make/cook dinner themselves and help make my life a breeze! Make a list of what you’ve done and slap it on the side of the fridge. The only thinking you need to do is picking something from the list and following a few steps to get it on the table!

4.) Entertaining - Make a list of when you’ll be hosting others and start to decide on a timeline for completing all of the tasks associated with these events. Check out my guide for specific tips and tricks for organizing and planning your party!

5.) Reach out for support - I am glad you’re here in this group for starters! This group -- along with my other accountability & challenge groups -- is the place to be for holiday support! Make sure to surround yourself with those who are on the same wellness journey. When you have a hard day, I want to know, when you find yourself scarfing down two candy bars in the car while waiting for those door breaker deals, let me help encourage you to get back on track!

The satisfaction of being organized and prepared is a huge win during the holidays. For more of my favorite tips and tricks for
