10/10 Portal + New Moon in Libra: The Fresh-Start Day You Don't Want to Sleep Through

Tomorrow — Saturday, October 10 — is one of those dates that makes the spiritually curious sit up a little straighter.

It's 10/10. An angel number. A portal day. And a new moon lands right on top of it, exact at 10:50 a.m. Central.

That's double fresh-start energy in a single day, and I don't know about you, but I'm not wasting it.

What's the 10/10 portal, anyway?

In numerology, every number carries a vibration, and 10 is a beautiful one.

1 is the number of new beginnings, independence, and taking the lead in your own life. 0 is infinite potential — the blank page, the open door, the quiet reminder that something bigger has your back.

Put them together as 10, then double it to 10/10, and that new-beginning energy gets amplified. That's why people call it a portal — a symbolic doorway where it feels just a little easier to step into what's next.

Angel number 1010 carries the same message: spiritual awakening, divine alignment, and a nudge that your thoughts are manifesting fast right now — so point them where you actually want to go.

And here's a fun layer: add up every digit in 10/10/2026 (1+0+1+0+2+0+2+6) and you get 12, which reduces to 3 — the number of creativity and self-expression. So tomorrow isn't only a day for setting goals. It's a day for saying what you want, out loud, with your whole chest.

Which new moon is it?

Fair question — because the old folk names like Harvest Moon and Hunter's Moon belong to full moons. October's full moon is the Hunter's Moon, arriving October 26.

New moons don't get those names. In astrology, they're known by their zodiac sign. So tomorrow is simply and beautifully the New Moon in Libra, exact at 10:50 a.m. CT.

Libra is ruled by Venus — the sign of relationships, fairness, beauty, and harmony. That makes this new moon perfect for intentions around love (romantic and otherwise), the people in your circle, creating more balance in your days, and surrounding yourself with more beauty.

A new moon is a blank slate. The sky goes dark, the old cycle closes, and you're handed a fresh page. Paired with the 10/10 portal? That's a blank page with a spotlight on it.

New moon practices and rituals (the simple, real-life kind)

You don't need anything fancy. Pick one — or do them all and make an afternoon of it.

1. Write 3–5 intentions.

Keep it to a few so your energy isn't scattered. Write them in present tense, like they're already yours: I am… / I welcome… / I am becoming… Tuck the list somewhere you'll find it — you'll want to check it at the Hunter's Moon on October 26 and see what moved.

2. Cleanse your space.

One drawer, one corner, one closet. Light some sage or incense, ring a little bell, or just throw a window open and let the stale air out. Out with the old energy.

3. Write the release letter.

This is my favorite. Write down what you're done carrying — the grudge, the habit, the tired story about yourself that expired two chapters ago. Then burn it safely or tear it into tiny pieces. The new moon clears the runway so the new can actually land.

4. Hold October's crystal.

October's crystal is Black Obsidian — protection, release, emotional grounding, and boundaries. Hold your black obsidian piece while you write your intentions. It guards your energy while you let go of what's heavy. (I wrote all about why I chose it for October here.)

5. Make new-moon water.

Set a covered jar of water out under the dark sky overnight — no moonlight needed; it's your intention that charges it. Sip it Sunday morning while you re-read your intentions. One safety note I always give: crystals around the jar, never inside your drinking water.

6. Speak your 10/10 affirmation.

Try this one: I release what was, and I welcome what is becoming. I am aligned, protected, and ready for what's next.

One last thing

The portal doesn't care if your ritual is fancy. It cares that you showed up — for yourself, for your intentions, for the woman you're becoming.

Happy 10/10, beautiful. Go plant some seeds.
