Hi there, friend. You know my bowls of crystals all over the house. Pretty — but a bowl can't come with you.

A crystal roller bottle can. It's a little glass bottle with crystal chips inside, topped up with essential oil and carrier oil, and a roller ball that puts the whole thing right on your pulse points. Your wrists, your temples, behind your ears, over your heart. Every time you roll it on, you get the scent, the stone, and the intention you set into it — all in about four seconds, wherever you happen to be.

That's why I make them. Ten blends below, each one matched to an intention. The crystal-and-oil pairings are the traditional ones women have worked with for years — the descriptions are about the intention each pairing carries, and your own intuition gets a vote too. Make one, make all ten, or start with the rose quartz bottle from my own shop — details on that one are at blend number three.

How to make a crystal roller bottle

It's a five-minute project, and most of that is choosing your drops. Here's everything you need:

Flat lay of DIY roller bottle supplies — empty glass roller bottles with gold caps, bowls of colorful crystal chips, carrier oil, essential oils, lavender on cream linen

Then it's just this:

  1. Add your crystal chips first — fill the bottle about a third of the way
  2. Add your essential oil drops (each blend below gives you the count for a 10ml bottle)
  3. Top up with the fractionated coconut oil, leaving a little room at the neck
  4. Press the roller top in, cap it, and roll it between your palms a few times to mix
  5. Hold the bottle, set the intention (more on that in a second), and roll it on

Three quick safety notes, because I love you and I mean them: always dilute your essential oils in carrier oil like this — never straight on skin; do a little patch test on your inner arm the first time you try a new oil; and if you're using a citrus oil like bergamot, roll it on skin that stays covered, because citrus oils and sunshine don't mix. The crystals stay in the bottle and on your skin — never in your drinking water.

1. Amethyst & Peppermint

The intention: a calm, clear headspace. Amethyst is the stone women have reached for forever when the day has been loud and they want their mind to quiet down. Peppermint is bright and cooling and cuts right through the mental fog. Together they're my evening blend — the one that lives by the bed and the bath.

6 drops peppermint. Roll it on your temples and wrists, breathe, done.

2. Black Obsidian & Frankincense

The intention: protection and grounding. Think of this one as your energy shield. Obsidian is the traditional protection stone — dark, steady, no-nonsense — and frankincense has been burned and worn for centuries in sacred spaces. Roll it on before you walk into a room you know will drain you: the hard meeting, the crowded store, the family thing.

5 drops frankincense. Wrists and the back of the neck.

3. Rose Quartz & Lavender

The intention: love — the kind you give and the kind you let yourself receive. Rose quartz is the stone of love, full stop. Lavender is its softest partner: gentle, familiar, instantly exhale-worthy. This is the blend I reach for on the days I need to be reminded to be kind to myself, not just everybody else.

6 drops lavender. Over the heart, and on the wrists so you catch it all day.

Or start with mine: the Rose Quartz Mini Roller Bottle

If blend number three is calling your name, this is the shortcut. My Rose Quartz Mini Roller Bottle is the one I sell at Bad Bitch Vibes — a glass mini roller that arrives already filled with rose quartz chips, Bad Bitch Vibes right on the glass. All you do is add your 6 drops of lavender, top it with carrier oil, and it's ready to live in your purse. $8.88, because a little self-kindness shouldn't cost a fortune.

4. Carnelian & Blue Lotus

The intention: creative fire. Carnelian is pure warm spark — the stone of passion for your projects, your art, your big ideas, the business you're building at the kitchen table. Blue lotus is a precious, dreamy floral traditionally paired with exactly that kind of inspired, lit-up energy. This is the blend to roll on before you create something.

3 to 4 drops blue lotus (it's a precious oil — a little goes a long way). Wrists and over the heart.

5. Green Aventurine & Spearmint

The intention: fresh starts and a little luck. Aventurine is traditionally known as the stone of opportunity — the one you carry into the new thing. Spearmint is peppermint's softer, sweeter sister, all fresh-beginning energy without the blast. Roll this one on the morning you start something: the new week, the new habit, the new venture.

6 drops spearmint. Wrists, and a little behind the ears.

6. Clear Quartz & Lemon Balm

The intention: a bright, clear mind. Clear quartz is the amplifier — it carries any intention beautifully, which is why it's the beginner's best friend. Lemon balm (you'll see it called melissa on the bottle) is a precious oil with a long traditional history as a gladdening, brightening scent. Together: clear stone, bright scent, clear head.

2 drops lemon balm oil, or 5 if yours is a lemon balm blend — it's precious stuff, so it doesn't take much. Temples and wrists.

7. Tiger's Eye & Bergamot

The intention: confidence. Tiger's eye is the steady-courage stone — those gold bands look like pure determination — and bergamot is bottled sunshine, the scent of walking into the room like you belong there. Because you do. One note: bergamot is a citrus oil, so roll this one on skin that stays covered — wrists under sleeves, over the heart — or save it for your getting-ready ritual before you head out.

5 drops bergamot.

8. Lapis & Rose

The intention: speaking your truth, kindly. Lapis has been the wisdom-and-truth stone since ancient Egypt — deep blue with little flecks of gold, like somebody bottled the night sky. Rose softens the delivery, so what you say lands with love instead of edges. Reach for this one before the conversation you've been putting off.

4 drops rose (another precious one — a rose blend works beautifully here too). Throat, wrists, over the heart.

9. Fluorite & Rosemary

The intention: focus. Fluorite grows in rainbow bands — purple, green, clear — and it's traditionally the order-out-of-chaos stone, which makes it the desk blend. Rosemary is the classic clear-thinking scent, the one students have used at study time for generations. Roll it on, open the laptop, get the thing done.

5 drops rosemary. Temples and the back of the neck.

10. Sodalite & Clary Sage

The intention: intuition and dreamwork. Sodalite is the deep-blue stone traditionally linked to inner knowing — the gut feeling you talk yourself out of and then wish you'd listened to. Clary sage is the classic dreamtime oil (it's the skin-friendly sage used in aromatherapy rollers). This one lives on my nightstand: roll it on before journaling, before meditation, before bed.

Set the intention before you roll

Same rule as everything around here: the bottle isn't the magic, you are. The bottle is the anchor. So before the first roll, hold it in both hands, take one slow breath, and say your intention — out loud or in your head, present tense, like it's already unfolding:

I move through my day in calm, steady peace

I am protected, grounded, and unbothered

I am worthy of love that treats me well — starting with my own

I trust my inner knowing and I listen to it

Then roll it on. After that, every time you catch the scent during your day — at the grocery store, in the car, at your desk — that's the reminder. Four seconds, intention back online.

Your next step

Pick the blend whose intention made you exhale. That's your first bottle.

If it's rose quartz and lavender, my Rose Quartz Mini Roller Bottle is sitting in the shop at $8.88 with the chips already in it — add your lavender and carrier oil and you're rolling by the weekend.
