Plan Your Week by the Planets — the best days for beauty, money, action and getting things done, from Platinum Sass

Have you ever noticed that some days feel made for getting things done, while other days practically beg you to slow down, put on a face mask, and ignore your inbox?

There might be a reason for that.

For centuries, each day of the week has been associated with a planet — or, in the case of Sunday and Monday, the Sun and Moon. Those old associations still show up in the names of the days in several languages, and they can be a surprisingly practical way to plan your week.

Friday is ruled by Venus, the planet connected with beauty, pleasure, love, and creativity. So if you are choosing a day for a hair appointment, fresh nails, a facial, or a little shopping trip that is really about feeling good in your own skin, Friday makes beautiful sense.

Tuesday belongs to Mars, the planet of action and courage. That is the day to make the call you have been putting off, start the workout, launch the thing, or finally tackle the project sitting in the corner giving you the side-eye.

This is not about letting the planets run your life. Heaven knows we have enough people and notifications trying to do that already. Think of it as using the energy instead of fighting it. You still make the decisions. The planetary week simply gives those decisions a rhythm.

If you have ever tried to force a detailed budget session on a dreamy Monday or schedule a relaxing beauty day in the middle of a chaotic Tuesday, you already understand the idea. Some tasks fit the day better than others.

Here is how I like to use it.

Your week at a glance chart — Sunday ruled by the Sun for rest and recharge, Monday the Moon for home and intuition, Tuesday Mars for action and courage, Wednesday Mercury for communication and errands, Thursday Jupiter for money and growth, Friday Venus for beauty and romance, Saturday Saturn for organizing and decluttering

Sunday — The Sun: Shine, Rest, and Reset

Sunday is the Sun’s day, and its energy is warm, visible, and life-giving. This is a day for confidence, joy, and remembering that you are a whole person — not just a walking to-do list.

Plan things that restore your sparkle: a slow morning, time outside, lunch with somebody who makes you laugh, or a little light self-care that helps you feel like yourself again. Sunday is also lovely for looking at the week ahead and choosing your priorities while you are calm, instead of trying to do it during Monday morning chaos.

Go easy on packing Sunday with obligations, or you will start the week already running on empty.

Glow-Up Tip: Choose one thing on Sunday that is purely because it brings you joy. Not because it is productive. Not because somebody else needs it. Joy is a valid calendar entry.

Monday — The Moon: Feelings, Home, and Gentle Starts

Monday belongs to the Moon, which is associated with emotions, intuition, home, and our inner world. If Monday feels softer or more reflective than the “rise and grind” crowd says it should, maybe Monday is not the problem.

This is a beautiful day for journaling, checking in with yourself, easing into the week, and taking care of home-based tasks. It can also be a good day for planning content that comes from the heart, writing a personal note, or deciding what you actually want — before the rest of the world starts telling you what to want.

Go easy on scheduling high-pressure meetings or making a major decision when you are feeling tender and have not had time to sort out your thoughts. Give your feelings a seat at the table, just do not hand them the whole steering wheel.

Glow-Up Tip: Before you open email or social media on Monday, write down three things: how you feel, what your body needs, and the one gentle win that would make the day feel successful. Small counts.

Tuesday — Mars: Take Action and Be Brave

Tuesday is ruled by Mars, the planet of energy, drive, courage, and forward motion. This is not your “sit around and think about it for another six weeks” day. This is your “let’s go” day.

Schedule the workout. Make the assertive phone call. Pitch the idea. Record the video. Start the launch. Clean out the thing that requires actual effort. Tuesday’s Mars energy is especially helpful when a task needs confidence or a little healthy feistiness.

It is also a good day to handle something you have been avoiding. Some tasks need a stronger battery, and Tuesday brings it.

Go easy on picking unnecessary fights. Mars energy can make us direct, which is wonderful, but there is a fine line between clear and cranky. Say the true thing, but do not set the whole bridge on fire unless you are truly finished crossing it.

Glow-Up Tip: Put your hardest task first on Tuesday, while your courage is fresh. Do not warm up with two hours of scrolling and call it research.

Wednesday — Mercury: Communicate and Get It in Writing

Wednesday is Mercury’s day. Mercury is connected with communication, learning, writing, technology, travel, and all the little moving pieces that keep life and business running.

This is a prime day for emails, messages, blog writing, recording content, scheduling posts, making appointments, running errands, learning something new, and clearing administrative clutter. If words are involved, Wednesday is your friend.

It is also a practical day for comparing options, asking questions, and reading the details before you say yes. Mercury likes information. Give it something useful to work with.

And when Mercury is retrograde, there is no need to hide under the bed. Just reread the message, confirm the appointment, back up the file, and leave extra time for tech or travel hiccups.

Go easy on sending an important message while rushed or irritated. On Mercury’s day, words travel fast. Make sure yours are going where you want them to go.

Thursday — Jupiter: Expand, Ask, and Think Bigger

Thursday belongs to Jupiter, the planet associated with growth, opportunity, abundance, optimism, and big-picture thinking. If Tuesday is the day to act, Thursday is the day to ask for more room to grow.

This is a strong day for money-related planning, business decisions, applications, proposals, asking for the sale, requesting help, or setting a goal that stretches you a little. It is also a good day for learning from a mentor, taking a class, or looking at where you want to be six months from now instead of only worrying about what is due by five o’clock.

Thursday energy reminds us that playing small is not the same thing as being sensible. You can be practical and still believe there is more available to you.

Go easy on overcommitting just because an opportunity sounds exciting. Jupiter can make everything look like a “yes.” Give the big idea a little Saturn-style review on Saturday before you rearrange your entire life around it.

Glow-Up Tip: On Thursday, ask for one thing you would normally talk yourself out of — the collaboration, the upgrade, the introduction, the day off, or the price your work is actually worth. Closed mouths do not get collaborations.

Friday — Venus: Beauty, Pleasure, and Feeling Like Yourself

Friday is ruled by Venus, and this is the one I want you to mark in pretty ink.

Venus is associated with beauty, attraction, love, art, money in the form of valuing ourselves, pleasure, and connection. That makes Friday an especially fitting day for beauty appointments and social plans. Hair, nails, brows, a facial, a makeup lesson, trying a new lipstick, or choosing an outfit for something fun — Friday understands the assignment.

There is also a practical bonus: a Friday beauty appointment carries you into the weekend feeling polished and ready for photos, church, brunch, date night, a girls’ day, or absolutely no plans at all. You do not need an audience to deserve feeling beautiful.

Go easy on making Friday a punishing catch-up day whenever you can help it. Yes, real life happens. But if Friday always becomes the dumping ground for everything that did not get done Monday through Thursday, your Venus day disappears — and so does a lot of your sparkle.

Glow-Up Tip: If you have a standing beauty service, ask whether you can claim a recurring Friday spot. One decision made once can protect your beauty ritual for months.

Saturday — Saturn: Structure, Order, and Long-Term Thinking

Saturday is Saturn’s day. Saturn is associated with structure, discipline, boundaries, responsibility, and the long game. It may not sound glamorous, but Saturn is the friend who reminds you to put the important papers where you can find them and stop saying yes to things that drain you.

Use Saturday for organizing, decluttering, meal planning, reviewing the budget, paying bills, tidying your purse or car, and handling the practical tasks that make the coming week easier. It is also an excellent day for setting boundaries and making long-term plans with a clear head.

Saturday does not have to be all chores. Set a timer, put on music, finish one closet, drawer, or stack of paper, and then stop.

Go easy on criticizing yourself for what is not finished. Order is built one decision at a time. You are creating a life that supports you, not performing for a home organization show.

Booking Beauty by Venus: How I Plan My Appointments

When I can, I let Friday be the anchor for beauty. A hair appointment on Friday means I get to enjoy the fresh style all weekend instead of spending the best hair days on a Tuesday trip to the grocery store. Not that the grocery store does not deserve good hair — it does — but you know what I mean.

Friday nails stay fresh for the weekend. For a facial that may leave skin temporarily flushed, ask your esthetician about timing before a big event or photos. The goal is glowing, not gambling.

If Friday is completely booked, do not panic and decide the planets have abandoned you. This is a guide, not a rulebook. Thursday can be a lovely backup for beauty because Jupiter’s expansive energy feels generous and treat-yourself. Monday can work beautifully for quieter maintenance appointments when you want a calmer salon and a gentler pace.

Here is the rhythm I aim for in my own week:

  • Sunday: Rest, recharge, and glance at the week ahead.
  • Monday: Journal, ease in, and handle home or heart-centered tasks.
  • Tuesday: Take action, work out, and do the brave thing.
  • Wednesday: Write, message, create content, and clear the admin.
  • Thursday: Think bigger, make money moves, and ask.
  • Friday: Beauty, creativity, connection, and pleasure.
  • Saturday: Organize, tidy the budget, and prepare for an easier week.

The magic is not in doing it perfectly. The magic is in noticing that your energy changes during the week and giving each kind of task a better home.

What If You Run a Business?

If you sell products, create content, lead a team, or run any kind of business, the planetary week can give your work a simple structure, too.

Use Tuesday’s Mars energy to launch, promote, go live, follow up boldly, or do the marketing task you have been avoiding. Mars is wonderful for momentum.

Use Wednesday’s Mercury energy for content and communication: captions, emails, blog posts, product descriptions, messages, and customer questions. If it needs clear words, Wednesday is ready.

Use Thursday’s Jupiter energy for growth decisions: reviewing your numbers in a practical, big-picture way, planning a promotion, applying for an opportunity, ordering inventory with intention, or deciding what deserves more of your attention.

Use Friday’s Venus energy for beauty, branding, and connection. Photograph the product. Make the pretty graphic. Thank your customers. Host the fun live. Let people see the pleasure and personality behind what you sell.

Bring in Saturday’s Saturn energy for systems: update the spreadsheet, organize the files, clean up the links, and write the checklist that will save future-you a headache.

That leaves Sunday for vision and rest, and Monday for intuition and planning from the heart. A business needs all of it — not just hustle.

Try It for One Week

You do not have to believe a word of this for it to be useful. Just try it as an experiment.

Move one beauty appointment to Friday. Put one brave action on Tuesday. Save one writing or communication task for Wednesday. Choose one growth step for Thursday, and give Saturday one small organizing project with a clear stopping point.

Then notice how it feels.

Did the week flow better? Did a task feel easier because it landed on the right kind of day? Did you protect a little more rest, beauty, or joy than usual?

That is the whole point. At this stage of life, I am not interested in forcing myself through every day the exact same way and calling that discipline. I am interested in rhythm. I am interested in working with my energy, honoring my season, and making room for both getting things done and feeling good while I do them.

Use the energy, beautiful. Do not be ruled by it.
